Record updates. What changed, and where it says so.
New decisions, orders and votes as they enter the record. Each update says what happened, quotes the primary source, and takes no side. Analysis lives in Positions, signed.
How an update is written. The record, not a reaction.
- What happened, first. The holding, the order or the vote, in plain terms.
- Primary sources only. The opinion, the Federal Register, the roll call. Every one linked.
- No side taken. Arguments appear only as the parties or the justices made them, and both sides when there are two.
- Unsigned. Updates belong to the record. Signed analysis is kept apart, in Positions.
See something wrong? Send the source.
If an update misstates a holding, an order or a vote, write to us with the primary source. Corrections are made in the update itself.
